Kodak Executives Discuss Controlling Color from Design to Press and Reveal the Secrets Behind Digital Plates at TLMI Technical Conference

Rochester, NY.- Kodak color expert Arjen van der Meulen and packaging segment manager Dale Patterson shared insights on color control and digital plates at the 2007 Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) Technical Conference, Sept. 5 in Chicago.

In his presentation, van der Meulen highlighted Kodak’s color technologies that help printers and converters optimize color reproduction, increase efficiency, enhance quality control and improve cycle times to lower costs.

“In the label converting market, brand owners demand accurate, consistent color to increase recognition, and to boost the in store visibility and shelf appeal of their products,” said van der Meulen. “Seamlessly delivering and matching color across a range of substrates and processes is a requirement for label printers.”

For example, KODAK COLORFLOW technology helps ensure streamlined connectivity, improved predictability and reduction of errors in the delivery of color, helping print providers and converters set correct color expectations. The technology also allows creative professionals to determine what final printed materials will look like early in the design cycle by enabling better communication of a printer’s color reproduction capabilities.

Dale Patterson revealed “The Secrets Behind Digital Plates” during his session, discussing new options to deliver faster and improved color reproduction, while reducing the total cost of flexo printed packaging.
