DALLAS and FORT WORTH, TX.-Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] selected employees from its local D/FW Metroplex business units to receive the NOVA Award, the corporation’s highest recognition for individual or team achievements. Less than one-half of one percent of the corporation’s 140,000 employees worldwide receive the honor each year.

To be considered for a NOVA award, individuals and teams must demonstrate outstanding contributions to the corporation’s mission and business objectives in the four categories of exceptional service, leadership, teamwork and technical excellence.

Six of the individual honorees came from the local area:

* Derek Attaway, manager of Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) propulsion integration, was recognized for his technical approach on the F-35B Lift Fan Nozzle control that resolved significant shortfalls in the low thrust characteristics.

* Cheryl Basham, quality assurance manager, oversaw the implementation of combining the F-16 and F-35 flightline operations, into Field Operations.

* James Clarke was recognized for his significant technical contributions on the propulsion systems developed for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement, Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System and Compact Kinetic Energy Missile, as well as his contributions on the Joint Common Missile and all other programs incorporating solid rocket motors. His contributions in failure investigations and subsequent redesign activities have culminated in propulsion systems exhibiting world-class performance needed for products crucial to the success.

* Wayne Donnelly, systems engineer, was recognized for his technical excellence and leadership contributions on F-35 Mission Systems.

* Henry Lynn, Jr., Lockheed Martin fellow, was selected for resolving issues with the JSF Multi-Function Display Computer to ensure a successful first flight.

* Jerry Rhodes, program management manager, was honored for leading the JSF autonomic logistics flight test schedule restructure.

Additionally, more than 80 employees in Fort Worth were honored as members of teams including the F-16 Final Assembly Relocation Team, the F-35 AA-1 Engineering Readiness Team, the Pakistan F-16 Capture Team, the C-130J Restructure Team and a corporate Urban Operations Close Air Support Team.

Lockheed Martin Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Stevens will host the 12th annual NOVA Awards October 26, 2007, at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum, Washington, DC. The event will start with a reception followed by an awards ceremony in the Lockheed Martin IMAX theater and will end with a seated dinner in the Milestones of Flight gallery.

The award trophy consists of a brilliant representation of the Lockheed Martin star logo bursting forth from a hand-polished, black-marble base.
