Vectren increases Ohio presence with new president, key regulatory attorney

Dayton, Ohio – Vectren Corporation announced the promotion of Dan Berry to president of Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio (VEDO) and Larry Friedeman to vice president, deputy general counsel for VEDO.

Berry has 16 years of experience in the utility business including engineering and operations roles. He has been with Vectren since 2000 and has served in various management responsibilities. In addition to the president’s role, Berry will continue managing the Ohio Division for Vectren’s Energy Delivery operations.

“I know Dan will represent us well in the Dayton region and his years of utility experience make him a logical choice to oversee operations for Vectren in the Miami Valley,” said Vectren Chairman, President and CEO Niel C. Ellerbrook. “We have also promoted Larry to help focus on important regulatory, legislative and local issues for us in Columbus and the greater Dayton area.”

Berry has progressed through operations management in Vectren’s Energy Delivery organization with his most recent role being divisional manager of all Ohio operations. Berry received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University, Master’s degree in Management from Antioch University McGregor and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Ohio. Dan and his wife Susie have two children and live in Washington Court House, Ohio.

Prior to this move, Friedeman served as the vice-president of regulatory affairs for Vectren Retail LLC, d/b/a Vectren Source. Prior to his association with Vectren Retail, the University of Pittsburgh alum was the regulatory liaison for Columbia Energy Services Corporation. His experience includes participation in regulatory initiatives and development of competitive retail access programs in the east and mid-west, including the states of Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland. Friedeman will be based in a new Columbus, Ohio office.
