U.S. Army Awards General Dynamics Contract for 30mm PGU-15 Ammunition Production

PETERSBURG, Fla. – The U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command at Rock Island, Ill., has awarded General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems the first year of a multiple award contract with a total potential value of $74.6 million for the production of 30mm PGU-15 A/B Target Practice Cartridges. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

The 30mm PGU-15 A/B is a low cost, target practice cartridge, ballistically matched to the PGU-13/B HEI combat round. Use of the target practice rounds provides realistic training on the A-10 GAU-8/A Gatling gun to U.S. Air Force pilots. Work on this contract will be performed at the company’s Marion, Ill., facility and will be completed in October, 2008.
