AOL today unveiled a significant redesign of its gaming site -- GameDaily (www.gamedaily.com) -- one of the Internet’s leading video game publications. The retooled site, available in beta, offers users a variety of improved offerings including new community features, greater search and browse functionality, fast and free downloads, high resolution video, content partner integrations, as well as easier access to video and video game cheat codes.

In addition, the newly retooled site now provides advertisers with the capability of launching highly visible rich media executions, category sponsorships and targeting, as well as integrated campaigns across the expanded GameDaily network of the Weblogs sites including Joystiq, Engadget and Fanboy Network.

“This relaunch underscores our ongoing efforts to further position GameDaily as the convergence point of pop culture and gaming,” said Ralph Rivera, vice president and general manager of AOL Games. “The new site offers a more streamlined user experience, as well as a more compelling and attractive buy for advertisers.”

The new GameDaily now features:

New Community Features – Users can rate, share, tag and comment on every article, video and cheat code.

Greater Search and Browse Functionality – Five different ways to search and find information on the video games.

Fast & Free Downloads – Faster and free downloading experience, no registration required to download with immediate access (no cue lines).

Easy Access to Video Game Cheats & Codes – Easier access to search the site’s extensive cheats content.

Snaggable Videos – Users can snag and embed video.

Bigger & Better Galleries – Full-sized images of the biggest games in new, easy-to-navigate galleries including custom-made Top 10 galleries on today’s hottest topics.

Enhanced Game Pages – Specially-designed hub pages for the most anticipated games of the year such as Halo 3, Madden NFL 08 and Super Mario Galaxy.

Rich Media Ad Capabilities – Will support high-profile ad opportunities, which will include skins for the site, corner peels and integrated sponsorships.

In the coming months, AOL will also retool the GameDaily Biz newsletter, a top video game trade publication.
