Trinity Broadcasting Network -- What once began as a single vision now shines brightly around the world

December 6 (Los Angeles)-----From its humble beginnings in 1973, the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) was birthed by a single vision from its founders Paul and Jan Crouch. Their dream was to build a Christian television network that would span the whole world. Times were hard in those early years and the disappointments were many, but the vision remained alive and strong.

Today that vision has become reality and TBN is the world’s largest Christian television network. Across America and around the world, TBN is carried by more TV stations, cable systems, and satellites and reaches more people than any other religious network in the world.

TBN television programs are translated into numerous foreign languages at TBN’s state-of-the-art facilities at the International Production Center in Irving, Texas. TBN produces more original Christian programs than any other religious network. The vast array of programs include gospel music concerts out of Nashville, “Live” coverage of major Christian events, informative talk shows with exciting guests, and Health and Nutrition programs with Christian family doctors. TBN also offers children’s shows with positive and uplifting moral values, hot contemporary Christian music videos for Gen-X’ers, and marriage enrichment series designed to strengthen the family. The network also features gala Holiday specials, inspiring Christian dramas, movies, and worship services from America’s largest churches—and more.

TBN, though, is not resting on its past successes. As its electronic pipeline—already one of the largest in the world—continues to expand, the focus at TBN is on innovative programming. TBN plans to offer more movies, documentaries, and eventually sitcoms and dramas that will reach a broader mainstream audience. This will result in quality ‘family fare’ that is matched with contemporary content.

JCTV is part of that strategy. As TBN’s premier youth network, JCTV (www.jctv.org) offers stylish, faith-based, state-of-the-art programs with dynamic music videos for those 13 to 29. JCTV features trendy programs that include reality shows, music videos, and game shows. Also, there are relevant talk shows, movies, comedies, and competitive sports that speak to America’s youth in a dynamic format they can grab hold of. JCTV spotlights exclusive programs such as “TX 10,” an urban music show that features the world’s top ten Christian Hip-Hop, R&B, and Rap artists. It’s hosted by Grammy-nominated rapper and Hip-Hop personality, T-Bone. Music on JCTV ranges from Alternative to Hip-Hop, Urban, Rap, Rock and a myriad of other musical styles. JCTV showcases such remarkable talent as Toby Mac, P.O.D., DC Talk, Pillar, Kutless, and 38th Parallel. All this is seen via exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews, live concerts, special appearances, and cutting edge music videos.

“There is a massive youth audience out there that readily aligns itself with faith-based programming,” explains Crouch. “They applaud it. They return to it. They tell their friends about it.”

TBN’s “Praise the Lord” continues to be one of the network most highly rated programs. Like old friends stopping by to say “Hi,” prominent people drop in frequently to chat on “Praise the Lord”— TBN’s flagship production. From all walks of life, they come to share their faith in God. They are leading pastors from America’s largest churches, astronauts, champion athletes, war heroes, movie stars, and country music entertainers. “Praise the Lord” is televised live from TBN production facilities throughout the U.S. On Wednesday Dec 8th at 7 pm (PST), “Praise the Lord” welcomes The Crabb Family Singers, The Freemans, Gospel Hall of Famer, Dottie West, and others for a night of praise and worship mixed with the joyful sounds of Christmas. This holiday extravaganza will be broadcast live from TBN’s Nashville production studio.

On Saturday nights at 7 pm, viewers are treated to amazing Billy Graham Crusades from the past 25 years that bring the message of hope to a lost world. Join world renowned actors, singers, athletes, and ministers as they share the platform with Dr. Graham, George Beverly Shea, and Cliff Barrows for an hour of blessing and inspiration to all who watch.

On Sunday mornings at 6 am, TBN features the powerful message of Pastor Jentezen Franklin. Franklin, who is known for his unique style of preaching, often utilizes powerful illustrations to tackle difficult topics with boldness as he reaches people with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. Kingdom Connection presents life-changing, practical messages that include a unique blend of drama, powerful storytelling, and moving musical performances that appeal to people of all ages.

“Providing faith channels for everyone is also a major priority for TBN,” says Crouch. “Since church services are some of the highest rated and most watched programs on Christian television, TBN has launched The Church Channel, America’s only 24-hour-a-day worship channel which features services from a wide variety of Protestant and Catholic denominations.” Today, The Church Channel is where America turns for faith.
