Victorville/ Apple Valley Dominate Future Supply of Detached New Homes

As of the most recent audit of our Land Tracker publication, there were a total of 145,830 proposed residential units spread among 1,214 projects in the planning process. Of this total, 76 percent are single-family detached homes in 968 distinct projects. Another 23,357 units in 192 projects are single-family attached units and 8,408 units in 52 projects are apartment units. These units range in status of having no approvals to having a final recorded map and are actually grading.

The Chino/Ontario submarket accounts for the largest percentage of proposed attached units with 29 percent of proposed units located there. Fontana/Rialto has the second largest percentage at 26 percent, followed closely by Victorville/Apple Valley (20 percent), San Bernardino/Colton (10 percent), and Loma Linda/Redlands (8 percent), and Rancho Cucamonga/ Upland (7 percent).

The Victorville/Apple Valley area represents the majority of detached homes planned for development, with 66 percent of the total. The fewest number of detached homes are planned for Rancho Cucamonga/Upland (2 percent), Loma Linda/Redlands (3 percent), San Bernardino/Colton (7 percent), Fontana/Rialto (8 percent), and Chino/Ontario (14 percent).
