GeoDecisions Implements Enhanced Route Log Application for Maine DOT

GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, was recently contracted by the Maine Department of Transportation (Maine DOT) to enhance its Web-based Route Log Mile (RLM) Filter application.

The initial completed phase of the application effectively links Maine DOT’s location referencing systems to business unit data that is maintained in a spatially enabled data warehouse.

For the new phase, GeoDecisions will add and customize a Straight Line Diagram (SLD) application. This cost-effective solution will be quickly implemented to add graphic viewing functions to the existing RLM interface, improving visualization and analysis capabilities. Users of the RLM application will be able to query and select all or part of a route through various filters and view associated data, including traffic volumes, roadway geometrics, speed limits, bridges, and pavement conditions.

GeoDecisions has successfully developed similar SLD applications for the Vermont Agency of Transportation, New Hampshire DOT, and Virginia DOT.
