Retired DuPont Chemist Herb Eleuterio Honored

Retired DuPont chemist Herbert Eleuterio recently won the Malcolm E. Pruitt Award from the Council for Chemical Research in Washington for his work in science education.

The award is presented to a chemist who has contributed to the advancement of chemistry-related sciences and engineering by promotion of mutually beneficial interactions among universities, the chemical industry, and government.

The honor consists of an engraved award and a check in the amount of USD 5,000 to support an institution or research activity of Herb’s choosing.

Herb worked for DuPont from 1954 to 1992. He was a DuPont Fellow, specializing in polymer chemistry, and received the company’s Lavoisier Award in 1995.
