United Nations Rep—Dr. Charles Phillips—Appointed as Spokesperson for Ten Commandments Commission

Sept 23, 2004 (Boca Raton FL) ---- Dr. Charles Phillips, representative for the United Nations as a Non-Government Official to the Economic Concilias, has accepted a position as Spokesperson for the Ten Commandments Commission, an organization devoted to defending and maintaining the Judeo-Christian moral tradition in society.

As a spokesperson, Dr. Phillips will be helping with the coordination of the upcoming Ten Commandments Day Celebration that is scheduled to take place nationwide on February 5, 2006.

“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Phillips as part of our team,” declares Ron Wexler President/CEO of the Ten Commandments Commission. “He is an established global representative of traditional values and we look forward to his leadership and his contribution to this worthy cause.”

In addition to being a U.N. rep, Dr. Phillips is an author, motivational speaker, relationship coach, keynote speaker, and leadership and personal development trainer. Dr. Phillips was a part of former President George Bush’s forum on “The Restoration of the Family,” and at the invitation of former President Bill Clinton, he attended the unveiling of the Economic Development plan for the District of Columbia. Phillips is also on the Executive Board of the International Third World Leaders Association (representing 70 nations). Dr. Phillips is listed in the 2004 Edition of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals in America.

“Like many others I have been concerned about recent attempts to remove the Ten Commandments and traditional moral values from society,” says Phillips. “I look forward to working with concerned citizens of this country and the world to take a stand for the principles that made this country so great.”

According to Wexler, the Ten Commandments Commission was founded as a result of recent court rulings and decisions to have Jewish and Christian symbols removed from the public square.

“The removal of symbols like the Ten Commandments represent a coordinated attempt to remove the Judeo-Christian heritage and moral tradition that has functioned as the foundation of our society,” says Wexler. “When these symbols are removed it is a visible reminder that God is not welcome in our society. Those who support a divine standard must do something about this. That’s why the Ten Commandments Commission was founded.”

Among the ministry leaders who are voicing their support for the TCC are Dr. Paul Crouch (TBN), Pastor T.D. Jakes (The Potter’s House), Rabbi Yehuda David Greenberg (Israel), Jason T. Christy (The Church Report), Richard Shakarian (Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship), Bishop George McKinney (Church of God in Christ), Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty (Tulsa Victory Christian Center), Benny Hinn (Benny Hinn Ministries), Ted Haggard (National Association of Evangelicals), Dr. Mark J. Chironna (The Master’s Touch International Church), Richard Roberts (Oral Roberts University), Marilyn Hickey (Marilyn Hickey Ministries), Bishop Paul S. Morton (Life Center Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral), Dr. Jerry Horner (Director of Doctoral Studies, Beacon University), Bishop Harold Ray (Redemptive Life Fellowship), Dr. Charles Green (Faith Church of New Orleans), and Floyd Flake (Pastor and former Congressman).

“The conviction that people of faith from all walks of life have a responsibility to take a bold stand for godly principles has prompted many ministry leaders and organizations to support the efforts of the commission and Ten Commandments Day,” says Wexler. “Our nation now stands in the ‘Valley of Decision’ and it’s time for all who honor God and His righteousness to let their voices be heard.”

The Ten Commandments Commission consists of thousands of people of faith who are interested in defending and restoring traditional Judeo-Christian moral standard in society. The co-founders of the commission are Ron Wexler and Pastor Myles Munroe. For more information about the Ten Commandments Commission please visit
