(CybeRelease, - Lake Harmony, Pa. - July 24, 2007) - General Metals Corporation (OTC BB: GNMT) (Frankfurt: GMQ) announced that Samuel G. Nunnemaker, P.Geo., B.Sc., Consulting Geologist, has joined the Company’s technical operations team to lead the data exchange with Newmont Mining and to oversee the Phase 1 drilling program on the Independence Mine in Battle Mountain, NV. Sam is a Registered Professional Geologist with 30 years experience in base and precious metal exploration and development. He is a graduate of the Mackay School of Mines and Geology in Reno, Nevada and has held positions as District Geologist, Inmet Mining Corporation and Vice President Inmet Mining (U.S.) Inc., where he managed exploration activities in the U.S. and Mexico. He has also held positions as Senior Geologist, Alta Exploration Inc., Geologist, Freeport Exploration Company, and Geologist, Union Carbide Corporation. He has extensive experience in Nevada gold systems as well as precious and base metal systems in the western U.S. and Mexico. Mr. Nunnemaker currently is the owner of N.G.S., a Nevada based exploration and mining consultancy company.

With all required drilling permits in place for Phase 1, final selection of drilling rigs and crews are underway and stage 1 of Phase 1 is expected to be complete around August 15, 2007.
