WHAT:

“From Sea to Shining Sea,” the 2005 Wolf Trap Ball -- A Celebration of America, will welcome nearly 1,000 business, cultural, and social leaders from across the country for dinner and dancing on the Filene Center Stage at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.

Every year for the Wolf Trap Ball, the second largest theatrical stage in North America is transformed into a magical and stunning space, representing a different country from around the world. This year’s ball celebrates the United States of America and the rich cultural and natural beauty of our own National Park System. The tribute to our Nation will feature breathtaking sets and decor, transforming the stage into a reflection of the diversity of the American landscape. The Golden Gate Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, and Mount Rushmore (all National Parks) will loom above the stage, and lavishly appointed tables with dramatic centerpieces will represent distinct regions of the United States and the evening’s menu will contain American delicacies and down-home favorites from the shores of Maryland to the Prairies of the West.

Funds raised by the 2005 Wolf Trap Ball will support Wolf Trap’s Education Programs, including the Wolf Trap Opera Company and the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts.
