New Sapphire 5 model makes smaller remote site deployment with centralized IPAM more affordable

BT Diamond IP, a leading provider of software and appliance products that help customers effectively manage complex IP networks, today announced the release of Sapphire 5, a low-cost DHCP/DNS appliance for remote office deployments. The Sapphire 5 expands the Sapphire 10 and Sapphire 20 series of appliances, which were recently awarded the Network Testing Labs World Class Award.

Sapphire 5 is a rack-mountable 1U platform, optimized to accommodate up to 3,000 IP addresses and 20,000 resource records. This configuration makes Sapphire 5 ideal for deployment in retail stores, sales offices and small office environments. Like other Sapphire models, Sapphire 5 is fully manageable from the BT Diamond IP IPControl™ system, which provides comprehensive, centralized management of IP address space, subnets, pools, IP addresses, resource records, and associated DHCP and DNS configurations. The IPControl Appliance Dashboard also provides monitoring, as well as services control and appliance-level configuration, of all deployed Sapphire appliances.

IPControl is available as software or pre-installed on Sapphire 10 and Sapphire 20 EX models.

“Sapphire 5 rounds out our appliance product line, enabling customers to deploy DHCP and DNS services closer to their remote users at an extremely attractive price point,” stated Michael Dooley, VP Operations, BT Diamond IP. “This adds another dimension of flexibility for deployment of DHCP and DNS services while retaining centralized control and configuration of IP addresses.”

Sapphire 5 provides unmatched performance for remote office DHCP/DNS appliances, making it the clear price/performance leader in this market. Sapphire 5 also boasts the same rich feature set as other Sapphire models, including multiple flexible network interfaces, TwinMirror™ high availability deployments, rack-mountability and centralized management. Consequently, small remote offices will not have to sacrifice either performance or functionality to implement an affordable IPAM solution.

Commenting on Sapphire products receipt of Network Testing Labs World Class Award, Barry Nance, noted networking expert and IPAM product reviewer for Network World and other publications, noted in a Network Testing Labs Review, “BT Diamond IP’s Sapphire products earn the Network Testing Labs World Class Award. We found them simple to use, cost effective, eminently secure, easy to deploy, highly scalable and extremely robust and reliable. Moreover, the Sapphire appliances are blazingly fast.” 1
