Boeing Names Hauser to Senior Legal Position in Washington, D.C.

CHICAGO,- Boeing [NYSE: BA] has named Richard A. Hauser as the company’s senior attorney in Washington, D.C.

Hauser, whose title will be vice president and assistant general counsel, Washington, D.C., was most recently the president of the National Legal Center for the Public Interest.

"Dick Hauser is a well known and highly respected attorney with many years of experience both inside and outside of government. We are very pleased to have him as our lead counsel in Washington, D.C" said J. Michael Luttig, Boeing senior vice president and general counsel.

Hauser was general counsel of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 2001 until he joined the National Legal Center in 2004. Prior to HUD, he was a partner in the Washington office of Baker & Hostetler, a national law firm that he joined in 1986. He was deputy counsel to President Ronald Reagan from 1981-1986, and prior to that held positions in the Department of Justice.

Hauser began his legal career in 1968 as a law clerk to the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He was assistant U.S. attorney for that district from 1970 to 1971 when he moved to Washington. He earned a B.S. degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1965, a law degree from the University of Miami in 1968, and is a member of the District of Columbia, Florida, and Virginia Bars.
