Report: IBM Software Leads IT Operations Management Market for Sixth Consecutive Year

ARMONK, NY - IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that independent analyst firm Gartner, Inc. ranked IBM as the worldwide market share leader in the IT operations management software marketplace based on total software revenue for 2006.

Industry analyst firm Gartner recently published its 2006 report titled, “Market Share: IT Operations Management Software, Worldwide 2006,” marking the sixth consecutive year that IBM maintained its leadership in this market. IT operations management software encompasses all tools needed to manage the provisioning, capacity, performance and availability of the computing, networking and application environment.

According to the independent report, IBM was the leading market share vendor in total software revenue with 24.6 percent market share, nearly double the share of its nearest competitor. The worldwide IT operations management software market grew 11.4 percent in 2006 to more than $11.3 billion.
