Cancellation of BLM Wild Horse Adoption Caused by Hurricane

WEBWIRE

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 -- On Sept. 24-25 the Bureau of Land Management-Eastern States (BLM-ES) was scheduled to hold a Wild Horse and Burro Adoption at the Sports Horse Complex, formerly known as the Miller Hollow Equestrian Center, in Clinton, Tenn.

Because of the impact of hurricane “Katrina”, the adoption is cancelled. The crew that would have conducted the adoption resides in Jackson, Miss. Because the severity of Hurricane Katrina caused significant damage in the Jackson, Miss., area, they will not be available to conduct the scheduled adoption.

People who had planned to attend and adopt in Clinton, Tenn., will have another opportunity on Nov. 19-20, 2005 when an adoption is scheduled in Cleveland, Tenn.

For applications and more information about the event in Cleveland, Tennessee, contact the Bureau of Land Management Toll Free 1-888-274-2133 or http://www.doi.gov.
