GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 22, 2007 – Colombo DiSalvatore of The Independent Business Owners Association International (IBOAI) congratulates Independent Business Owners (IBOs) in the U.S. and Canada for driving Quixtar (www.quixtar.com) to the top of the Health and Beauty Category of Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide of retail Web sites.
“Internet Retailer’s ranking is a great testament to the hard work of our association members, Quixtar IBOs,” says Colombo DiSalvatore. “Their business success also lead Quixtar to be ranked 22th overall based on web-generated sales.”
Internet Retailer’s Top 500 guide ranks America’s largest retail Web sites based on 2006 sales. “Quixtar earned its top ranking based on $1.118 billion in total sales, with $880 million generated online,” notes DiSalvatore.
“This is a 10% increase over last year’s sales,” adds Karen DiSalvatore.
“According to Internet Retailer, online sales in the Health and Beauty category were just over $2.2 billion in 2006,” says Colombo DiSalvatore.
“Quixtar represented more than a 50 percent of the sales in the H & B category, surpassing companies such as Avon, Sephora USA, Lancome-USA and Clinique Laboratories Inc.,” adds Karen DiSalvatore.
