"I’m Still Hot" Summer Book Tour Gets Underway

WEBWIRE

Baby Boomer Author Beverly Mahone is gearing up for what she calls the hottest summer she’s ever experienced! That’s because not only will she join the fabulous fifties club on the first day of summer---June 21---but the author of the best selling book, “Whatever! A Baby Boomer’s Journey Into Middle Age” is also a new member of an exclusive group known as the Hot Flash Club. Mahone says, “I’ve been visited by the seven dwarfs of menopause (Itchy, Bitchy, Sleepy, Forgetful, Bloated, Sweaty and All Dried Up) off and on for the past couple of years and I haven’t had a period in over a year now so I think it’s safe to say I’m going through the change.

But Ms. Mahone isn’t going through her journey quietly. She’s been very vocal about her symptoms to practically anyone who’ll listen. She says menopause is not the time to hide out or be ashamed. “Embrace it with open arms and then challenge yourself to get through it with grace, dignity and style,” she says. She also encourages women to exercise, eat healthy and share their symptoms with their girlfriends and especially their mates. “Men don’t have a clear understanding of what it is we’re going through so it would be in our best interest to try to educate them before we feel a hot flash coming on or fall into one of our bouts with depression.”

Ms. Mahone will kick off her “I’m Still Hot…It Just Comes in Flashes Now!” summer book tour with a guest appearance on the FOX8 Morning Show in High Point, NC on June 20 followed by another guest appearance on the FOX News Rising Morning Show in Charlotte, NC and a book signing at Park Road Books on June 21. “What better way to spend my 50th birthday,” laughs Ms. Mahone.

Ms. Mahone was recently featured in the NY Times and was a guest on New York’s WOR Radio with Henican and White. She was also a guest baby boomer expert on MSNBC-TV. If you’d like to schedule Ms. Mahone for an interview, book signing or as a guest speaker, please contact her directly at 301-356-6280 or via email at bmahone@nc.rr.com
