Lockheed Martin Unit Opens Expanded Facility in Northwest Florida to Better Serve Local Military Customers
SHALIMAR, FL,- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has established a new and larger customer support facility here to better assist its nearby Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) customer at Hurlburt Field. Eventually, more than 20 Lockheed Martin personnel may be employed at this new facility conducting studies and analyses, and research and development projects that support future Special Operations Forces (SOF) requirements and programs.
“This 5,000 square foot facility exhibits our commitment to support our valued AFSOC customer,” said Scott Greene, vice president for Business Development at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration in Owego, NY. “The facility’s Systems Integration Laboratory – with its connectivity to other Lockheed Martin modeling and simulation resources – will help our customers visualize and experience possible technical solutions to their existing and emerging needs.”
Linked to the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation in Suffolk, VA, the new facility on Eglin Parkway will have access to the Corporation’s network-centric operations, such as the Global Information Grid simulator, and other modeling and simulation training capabilities for warfighters. Several Lockheed Martin employees initially will staff the facility, focused on providing technical solutions for AFSOC-assigned aircraft and systems.
