Avery Dennison Names Richard P. Randall As Vice President, Corporate Goverance And Associate General Counsel

Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE: AVY) announced today that Richard P. Randall has been promoted to the position of vice president, corporate governance, associate general counsel and assistant secretary, effective June 1, 2007.

In this role, Randall will retain primary responsibility for corporate and legal subsidiary matters, including the legal aspects of debt and equity financings, SEC filings, executive compensation, equity incentive program administration and the Law Department administrative function. He will continue to report to Robert G. van Schoonenberg, executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary to the Board of Directors and support him on board, stockholder of record, transfer agent and other regulatory matters. In addition, he will assume management responsibility for Company intellectual property matters.

Randall joined Avery Dennison as senior counsel in 1984 and served as principal counsel to the Company’s label and ticket and tag converting groups. He was promoted to assistant general counsel in 1990, assistant secretary in 1993, and vice president, associate general counsel and assistant secretary in 1998. He has served as corporate counsel in both the Corporate Law Department office and in Leiden, the Netherlands.
