FUJIFILM Holdings Integrates Group-wide Administrative and Human Resource Operations and Establishes Shared Services Company


FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation (President and CEO: Shigetaka Komori) will establish FUJIFILM Business Expert Corporation as a shared services company to improve efficiency of consolidated group management, enhance operational quality and to develop specialized human resources. It will integrate the administrative, human resource (welfare and benefits, etc.), insurance agency and travel agency functions for the Group companies of FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation.
The new company is scheduled to begin operation in July 2007.
[Main Business Activities]
FUJIFILM Business Expert Corporation will provide shared services for administrative and human resource activities for group companies under the governance of FUJIFILM Holdings by integrating FUJIFILM Insurance Service Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of FUJIFILM Corporation, and Fuji Xerox General Business Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. which has provided such services.
The new company will be based on the high-standard daily operation support services developed by Fuji Xerox General Business, and integrate the unique know-how of FUJIFILM and Fuji Xerox to provide efficient and high quality services to the whole group companies.
With these changes, administrative and human resource operations currently implemented individually by FUJIFILM and Fuji Xerox will be subsequently transferred to FUJIFILM Business Expert Corporation. In addition, after the proper steps have been taken, the operational scope will be expanded to include more Group companies subject to receive services and to include indirect material purchasing as a shared services.
[Background and Aim of Shared Services]
FUJIFILM established “Enhancing consolidated management” as part of its fundamental strategies in its medium-term management plan, “VISION 75”. In October 2006, it shifted to a holding company structure and, in February 2007, it assembled and integrated FUJIFILM and Fuji Xerox head offices at Tokyo Midtown complex in Roppongi to maximize group synergy.
Using this organizational shift as an opportunity, FUJIFILM Holdings Group started “Slim & Strong” activities which aim to achieve a more muscular and robust corporate constitution, and meticulously streamline manufacturing expenses, selling, general and administrative expenses, R&D expenditures and focus its uses.
The shift to shared services is a part of the “Slim & Strong” activities. FUJIFILM will strive for enhanced service quality and agility, and will relentlessly pursue efficiency through creation of a leaner company by consolidating shared operations, standardization and integration of operational processes, and utilization of outsourcing.
