ScienceDirect loads PsycARTICLES backfiles
Elsevier, a leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical (STM) information, has added nearly 73,000 PsycARTICLES backfiles to its unsurpassed STM information platform, ScienceDirect.
Published by the American Psychological Association (APA), the PsycARTICLES database is recognized worldwide as a leading full-text source for academic, research and practice literature in psychology and related disciplines.
The inclusion of PsycARTICLES backfiles completes the ScienceDirect collection, which previously covered the years back to 1988. Customers can now access PsycARTICLES research as far back as 1894 when the first issue of Psychological Review was published. Current subscribers do not need to do anything to get access to these backfiles; this file will be a part of the PsycARTICLES renewal on ScienceDirect.
"Everyone benefits from this development" explains Joep Verheggen, Director, ScienceDirect. "Adding this historical psychology research helps us to further extend our high-quality information offering while providing our PsycARTICLES customers with even more essential content from key titles at no additional charge"
Linda Beebe, Senior Director of PsycINFO at APA, said, "Access to this historical literature is a great boon to the science of psychology and to researchers across many disciplines. APA is very pleased to provide the content at no additional cost and is delighted that ScienceDirect is including it in their delivery of psychology journals"
PsycARTICLES on ScienceDirect combines APA’s Psychology content with the benefits of the world’s largest professional research database. ScienceDirect is one of the first platforms to make PsycARTICLES backfiles available.
