Lori Sweere Komstadius Joins UnitedHealth Group as Executive Vice President Human Capital

MINNEAPOLIS.– UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) today announced that Lori Sweere Komstadius has been appointed executive vice president, Human Capital. Ms. Sweere will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, including compensation and benefits, talent management, leadership and employee development, rewards and recognition and organization development. Previously, Ms. Sweere was executive vice president, human resources, for CNA Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA), in Chicago, IL.

Hemsley, president and chief executive officer of UnitedHealth Group, said, “Lori will provide leadership and human resource management expertise that will further align our business objectives and our employees’ personal goals for the dedicated people we have working across this enterprise.”

As executive vice president of human resources for CNA, Ms. Sweere directed nine senior HR officers and a staff of more than 170 in a global organization. Prior to CNA, Ms. Sweere held human resources positions for The St. Paul Company, St. Paul, MN, and for National Computer Systems in Eden Prairie, MN.
