NEW YORK, Aug. 15 -- Following is a statement released today by the September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows in support of Cindy Sheehan:
September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows supports Cindy Sheehan during her vigil in Crawford, Texas. We believe that personal witness is a powerful tool for reaffirming the humanity lost to terrorism, violence and war. We ask President Bush not only to see Cindy, but to see the majority of Americans she represents: citizens who have come to the conclusion that the war in Iraq is making us less safe, that the loss of civilian and military lives is unacceptable, and that America must take a new direction if we are to eliminate the very real threat of terrorism.
