Potential to add value from Shared Services is under-exploited according to Atos Consulting
Atos Consulting, the business consulting arm of Atos Origin, today announced that it will be launching its new, proven quick scan Shared Services diagnostic tool at Shared Services Week in Prague, Czech Republic, on 21–23 May 2007. The diagnostic tool is designed to facilitate the assessment of progress against best practices in Shared Services organisations across the following six areas: leadership, organisation, people and culture, customer service, processes, systems and technology.
The diagnostics tool has been successfully trialled with a number of clients including Abbey. Commenting on the tool, John Fields, head of financial control at Abbey, said, “it is an invaluable tool that provides very powerful output from a minimum of input.”
The diagnostics tool, aimed at any organisation looking to maximise the value from Shared Services investments, is available in an easy-to-use, online format. A full evaluation can take as little as half a day to complete with an experienced consultant providing insight, analysis and recommendations for an action plan. The end result provides a credible, independently verified, view of the current position together with prioritised actions for either overcoming current challenges or taking the Shared Services organisation to the next level.
“Many Shared Services Centres are still having issues or challenges such as broken processes, non-realisation of benefits, high staff turnover, customer complaints or ineffective technology, and have not moved from what we call the “embryonic” stage,” said Philip King, Head of Shared Services Solution, Atos Consulting. “Our diagnostic tool has been developed from 15 years of experience in the field. It provides a rapid non-intrusive assessment. Our expertise can enable a client to objectively understand the gap between their current position and attainable goals, and then agree the most suitable courses of action.”
Atos Origin will be demonstrating the quick scan Shared Services diagnostic tool at Shared Services Week in Prague from 21st to 23rd May.
