based UHY Advisors Inc., one of the leading tax and business consulting services firms in the nation.

Under terms of the contract, AT&T will provide UHY with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution, integrating 15 UHY locations across the United States. AT&T’s solution supports UHY’s ability to add a full range of capabilities including local, long distance, teleconferencing, managed Internet access and hosting services.

The VPN solution, based on Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology, is provided via a standardized network infrastructure that will enable UHY to integrate disparate networks, e-mail systems, applications and devices. UHY will now be able to implement collaborative business applications over a single Internet Protocol (IP)-based communications platform to provide a common set of Internet tools and capabilities across its U.S. operations.

UHY Advisors provide financial, tax and business consulting services to midsized and larger companies. UHY Advisors also offers global consulting and tax proficiency assistance to clients with multinational needs through an affiliation with more than 150 UHY international offices.

The MPLS solution will serve as a foundation for UHY’s deployment of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and other converged services in the future. The solution is provided via AT&T’s highly available network platform, which provides automatic rerouting in the event of a network disruption or disaster. The company’s existing network services were scattered among frame relay, dedicated private line and MPLS, with limited network redundancy.

AT&T will also provide UHY with hosting services at one of its Chicago-area Internet Data Centers (IDC). AT&T provides hosting services at 36 IDCs around the world. AT&T’s IDCs are highly secure, fortified buildings designed to house mission-critical data for business customers. Customers at these centers are protected from power failure, physical intrusion and network outages by extensive backup power and cooling systems, multi-layered security and fire defenses.

“To meet the growing and ever-changing requirements of our business, it is critical that we are able to access and process high volumes of information quickly and securely,” said Mathew Camden, chief information officer, UHY Advisors. “AT&T has a proven track record of security, speed and reliability – which made our decision to expand our network contract an easy one.”
