WEBWIRE

BRISBANE, CA -- 11/28/2004 -- Stentor, a leader in medical image and information management, today announced the release of iSite PACS version 3.3. The announcement was made at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 89th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

iSite PACS version 3.3 adds improved clinical features and functionality to Stentor’s #1 rated iSite PACS, including: remote reading/caching of exams for teleradiology; exam memos for improved collaboration between physicians; image processing filters to aid physician interpretation and diagnosis; a localizer tool for improved diagnosis and image navigation; updated key images tools; and a CD manager for easy image distribution and management.

In addition, Stentor is launching the iSite Platform program. The Platform program includes a core API and supporting technologies that enable 3rd party applications to work seamlessly within the iSite PACS environment, sharing user context, images, and related clinical information on a single desktop. The Platform program enables customization to drive the implementation of applications such as the electronic medical record (EMR), computerized physician order entry (CPOE), speech recognition, orthopaedic templating, 3D imaging, and structured reporting. Incorporating such tools within the PACS environment enables iSite to become an open platform for clinical applications across the health care enterprise.

At RSNA, selected clinical application partners will be showcasing iSite Platform combinations at the Stentor booth:

-- Heartlab: Cardiology workstations for access to high-quality images for all cardiology studies

-- MedCon: Dedicated cardiology workstations

-- Medicalis: Intelligent order entry with clinical decision support and enterprise-wide scheduling

-- MedQuist: Dictation and speech recognition for reduced cost and turnaround times

-- MIMvista: PET-CT and multi-modality fusion

-- OrthoView: Orthopaedic templating and preoperative planning

-- PACSGEAR: Scan paper, film, and more into iSite PACS

-- Vital Images: 3D/4D workstations for advanced visualization and analysis

-- Voxar: 3D visualization and integrated workflow solution

-- Commercial and Custom EMRs: Including Epic and MEDITECH as well as hospital-specific EMRs developed by MD Anderson and VA VistaWeb

-- Other Integration Tools: CD/DVD publishing and C-Phone dictation/transcription

“With the introduction of iSite PACS version 3.3, we have continued to build upon the iSite architecture to offer customers a powerful and flexible PACS Platform that enables hospitals to integrate the best tools for its specific clinical environment,” said Rob Terheggen, Product Manager at Stentor. “Our iSite Platform strengthens our position to provide customers with choice and flexibility when it comes to clinical and workflow tools that they will use each day.”
