Award-Winning Author Clifton Brusso Explores a Possible Escape by John Wilkes Booth in “Booth The Great Escape”

Award-winning author Clifton Brusso, a direct descendant of Alexandre Dumas, creator of “The Three Musketeers” and other classics, announces the release of his new book, “Booth The Great Escape.”

The inspiration for the book came unexpectedly when Brusso’s brother Robert recalled an unusual discovery from their childhood.

“One day, out of the blue, my brother Robert told me that he, Davie, and Bill had gone into a barn and found a carriage hidden under a tarp and a pile of hay, with the name Dr. Mudd on the back of the seat,” Brusso recalls.

Their father had warned them that visiting the farm along McGunn’s Creek was dangerous. Brusso was shocked by his brother’s account and its possible historical implications.

As an author, Brusso decided to contact the Smithsonian Institution for more information before writing his book. According to Brusso, the institution was skeptical and could not explain how the carriage might have arrived there.

Using Microsoft Copilot to research historical details surrounding the conspiracy, Brusso developed a narrative exploring how Booth might have escaped with the help of a lookalike, traveled to Michigan’s Copper Country, and lived out his remaining years there.

“Booth The Great Escape” is expected to become available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google Play Books, Rakuten Kobo, Apple Books, and other online booksellers, with distribution through services including IngramSpark, Lulu, and BookBaby.
