The Finnish wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia consolidates health and social care data on Lifecare Data Platform

WEBWIRE –

Tieto Caretech will deliver Lifecare Data Platform to the wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia in Finland. The platform will consolidate social and healthcare data from multiple sources into a unified data environment, where it can be harmonized and refined to support data-driven management, service development, data analytics and new digital services.

“The wellbeing services counties have vast amounts of valuable data. The target is to turn that data into information that supports both daily operations and management, as well as the development of future services. By bringing together data from different sources, the county can make broader use of it, for example in the data analytics and AI solutions. We are pleased to welcome the wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia to the growing number of Lifecare Data Platform users, which now includes 15 wellbeing services counties and HUS Helsinki University Hospital in Finland,” says Teemu Vähäkainu, Head of Data-Driven Care at Tieto Caretech.

“Lifecare Data Platform consolidates social and healthcare data from the wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia into a unified, high-quality data foundation. This enables us to leverage advanced analytics and AI to monitor and improve the effectiveness of our services. It also gives us improved visibility into reporting, calculation rules and the underlying raw data. Reliable and up-to-date data is essential for transparent and sound management of the wellbeing services county’s operations and finances and plays an important role in securing its funding. A harmonized data model supports data-driven management and ensures that we understand exactly what lies behind the information we use. This way, we can build sustainable wellbeing for the people of Ostrobothnia,” says Pia Wik, Data Director in the wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia.

The county of Ostrobothnia serves approximately 176,000 residents and employs around 8,000 professionals in health, social and rescue services.
