UNice Hair Supports Community Wig Fitting Event for Cancer Patients in Washington, DC

UNice Hair supported a community wig fitting and beauty event for 12 cancer patients in Washington, DC, alongside EBeauty Community for Cancer Support, Legacy Philanthropy, Paul Mitchell, and other partners. The event offered personalized wig selections, beauty services, and community connection as part of UNice Hair’s ongoing Pink Love initiative supporting people experiencing cancer-related hair loss.

Held at Yours Truly DC, the event was organized by Legacy Philanthropy on behalf of Washington Commanders defensive end Charles Omenihu, honoring his mother, a 12-year breast cancer survivor. UNice Hair contributed wigs suited to participants’ needs and preferences, while Paul Mitchell provided wig-fitting assistance and makeup services. Participants also received gift bags and shared lunch together.

For people experiencing cancer-related hair loss, a wig can offer more than a change in appearance. It can help restore familiarity and confidence during treatment. The event brought together practical support and a welcoming space for participants to feel cared for and celebrated.

Continuing Five Years of Partnership

UNice Hair and EBeauty began their partnership in 2022 with an initial donation of 100 wigs. In 2026, they marked five years of working together to support people experiencing cancer-related hair loss. Their initiatives include Strands of Strength, part of their continued effort to help people access wig support throughout their cancer journey.

Previous efforts included donating 100 gifts to a charity auction in Buckeye, Arizona, in 2023; the 2024 Empowering Pink Warriors campaign, which directed $1 from each wig sold toward free wigs; and the 2025 Uniting Pink Hearts campaign, featuring wig donations, giveaways, livestreams, and community storytelling.
