The 5th Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards close their application period with 331 projects received
The Rafa Nadal Foundation begins the evaluation phase of applications in a particularly special edition, marking the fifth anniversary of this initiative supporting the non-profit sector. Across its five editions, the awards have received a total of 1,523 projects, with 20 initiatives already recognised and €300,000 allocated to support social projects.
The application period for the 5th Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards closed last Friday with a total of 331 projects received, submitted by social organisations working to improve people’s lives and address a wide range of societal needs.
With this fifth edition, the awards have reached a total of 1,523 projects received over their five-year history, consolidating their role as an important channel for collaboration between the Rafa Nadal Foundation and the non-profit sector, as well as an opportunity to raise the profile of and support social initiatives across a wide range of fields.
Following the end of the application period, Fundación Lealtad is reviewing all applications and scoring the projects in accordance with the criteria established in the call guidelines. This initial assessment phase will take place during the final months of the year and will subsequently lead to the selection of between 10 and 15 projects in each category.
Between January and February, the jury will meet in Madrid to deliberate and assess the shortlisted projects, with the aim of selecting the five winning organisations, one in each award category. The jury will comprise representatives of the Rafa Nadal Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Presidency and Management, professionals from Telefónica, and invited guests.
The five winning projects will be announced in February, while the awards ceremony will take place during the second quarter of the year, with the date and venue to be confirmed in due course.
The event will be attended by Rafael Nadal and the entire Rafa Nadal Foundation team, as well as two representatives from each winning organisation. The ceremony will be a special occasion to recognise the work of the award-winning organisations and highlight the commitment of social organisations working every day to make a positive impact on society. The event will also feature several surprises.
This fifth edition is particularly significant, marking the first five years of an initiative that enables the Rafa Nadal Foundation to respond in an open and equitable way to the many requests for support it receives from social organisations with diverse missions and areas of activity that complement the Foundation’s own work.
Over the first four editions, the Rafa Nadal Foundation has recognised 20 social organisations for their 20 projects, initiatives that stand out for their commitment and contribution to improving people’s lives. To help bring these projects to fruition, the Foundation has allocated a total of €300,000 in prize money. This investment will increase with the fifth edition, which will see five new winning organisations selected.
Through these awards, the Foundation seeks to support projects that help improve people’s quality of life, promote equal opportunities and build a fairer, more inclusive society.
The 1,523 projects received across these five editions reflect the diversity and commitment of the social sector, as well as the importance of continuing to create opportunities for collaboration so that organisations can keep developing their work and contributing to social transformation.
