ParagonCorp, Indonesia’s Halal Beauty Powerhouse, Shares Its Consumer-First Playbook at BeautyMatter NEXT50 Summit 2026, United States

ParagonCorp Indonesia, the company behind Wardah, outlines how understanding consumers shapes one of the world’s largest halal beauty businesses

Los Angeles, California, United States – WEBWIRE –

ParagonCorp, Indonesia’s leading beauty company, shared its consumer-first approach to building a halal beauty powerhouse at the BeautyMatter NEXT50 Summit 2026 in Los Angeles. Speaking on a panel about building relevance across diverse markets, Dr. Sari Chairunnisa, MD, Deputy CEO and Chief R&D Officer of ParagonCorp, said the company’s four-decade journey starts with one principle.

“People just want to be heard. People just want to be represented,” said Dr.Sari.

For ParagonCorp, halal certification is an important technical requirement, but not the whole story. Dr. Sari explained that the concept of halal extends to how products fit into a consumer’s daily life, including routines of prayer and ablution, and to whether a product truly delivers what consumers are led to believe it does.

“Halal not only means what is permitted to be used, but also what is good for you,” said Dr.Sari. This broader view connects halal with fairness and truthfulness, conscious choices, responsibility, and sustainability.

Dr.Sari shared that Muslim women should not be viewed as one single consumer segment. Religion may be shared, but cultural expression, daily routines, and expectations vary across markets and communities, including how women dress, wear the hijab, or express their beauty. “If you are talking about Muslim women, you have to listen to the consumer,” she said. “You don’t want your brand visual and people think, ‘Who is that? I’m not like that.’”

A consumer may discover a product through a creator, try it in-store, attend an offline event, and buy on another digital platform, then share their own experience to start the next cycle. As consumers increasingly turn to AI tools for recommendations, information across platforms becomes part of the experience itself. Dr.Sari described this as an ’Infinite Loop’: brands must understand and take care of every touchpoint, because each interaction shapes the next.

For ParagonCorp, a beauty powerhouse is measured not only by how much it sells, but by how well it understands the people it serves. Over more than 40 years, the company has built an integrated value-chain ecosystem spanning consumer understanding, R&D, manufacturing, distribution, and consumer-facing channels across a portfolio of 15 brands, supported by more than 200 researchers.

Through its participation at BeautyMatter NEXT50 Summit 2026, ParagonCorp brings its experience into the global beauty conversation: there may be no single formula for understanding consumers, but there is a universal starting point: listen closely, understand deeply, and keep learning.
