A 30-metre Wave of LEGO® Botanicals Blooms Across Shanghai’s West Bund in World’s Largest Botanical Build

SINGAPORE – WEBWIRE –
  • The LEGO Bloom Exhibition transforms the Tank Shanghai Art Centre and Shanghai’s West Bund into a wave of flowers.

  • The exhibition invites adults to explore their passions and enjoy the hands-on creativity with LEGO building.

  • It is the LEGO Group’s latest step in tapping into the growing adult market, followed by an adult-focused pop-up store in Shanghai in November.

More than 380,000 LEGO® Botanicals pieces have transformed Shanghai’s West Bund into a wave of flowers stretching 30 metres and spanning 800 square metres. The largest LEGO Botanicals build ever constructed worldwide has attracted over 229,000 visitors since its official opening on 1 October 2026.

Created by hand over 1,200 hours, the installation consists of roses, sunflowers, tulips and other LEGO brick-built plants, forming the centrepiece of the LEGO Bloom Exhibition at Shanghai’s West Bund. West Bund, one of Shanghai’s most exciting cultural and lifestyle destinations, is a vibrant mix of contemporary art, design, fashion, and urban leisure. It serves as the focus of the LEGO Bloom Exhibition, which was created to invite adults to explore creativity through building, art and design.

But visitors aren’t limited to observation only.

Eighteen original artworks, co-created with artists and adult fans of LEGO building, have reconstructed and reimagined LEGO Botanicals with materials such as metal, textiles and mirrors, offering fresh interpretations of flowers and nature. Visitors can also build their own creations and scan them into a shared digital flower landscape, where their designs become part of an evolving display.

“Adults don’t stop being creative, but making time for creativity can become harder,” said Remi Marcelli, Senior Vice President, Global Brand Development, at the LEGO Group. “Our goal is to inspire more adults to make time for the things they love and discover the satisfaction of creating something themselves. Through experiences like the LEGO Bloom Exhibition, we are showing how building can spark new ideas, bring people together and add a little more creativity to everyday life.”

The exhibition also features 18 curated lifestyle displays that stage LEGO Botanicals in home settings, showing how the collection brings colour and inspiration to everyday living spaces.

The LEGO Botanicals collection features more than 40 sets inspired by flowers and plants. Each set invites adults to further experiment with colour, express their unique style and experience the joy of building with LEGO elements. Whether displayed on a shelf or used to add an individual touch to a room, the finished creation brings a feeling of nature indoors.

“Over the past decade, we have mainly grown with children in China, bringing LEGO play to more families through our products and stores,” said Maciek Selinski, Head of the China Market Group at the LEGO Group. “Building on this foundation, we are accelerating the growth with adults, too. By investing in brand building and retail innovation, we want to give them more opportunities to explore the things they love through LEGO building.”

The LEGO Bloom Exhibition is open until 29 October. In November, the LEGO Group will open an adult-focused pop-up store in Shanghai. It will give visitors another place to discover LEGO products and unlock the joy of creation.
