Brazilian poker player Gabriel “kingqueensuited” Tavares followed one Sunday Banana victory with another at Americas Cardroom, earning $204,657 across the Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 tournaments. His back-to-back wins come as he prepares to return for Day 2 of the $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO.

The first title brought Tavares $96,336 from a $436,000 prize pool after the $1,050 buy-in Sunday Banana drew 436 entries. A week later, the field increased to 502 entries and the prize pool reached $502,000. Tavares again finished first, this time collecting $108,321.

For Tavares, the consecutive results reflected the importance of consistency at high stakes. “When you play high stakes, consistency is very important, and winning tournaments like that is very important,” he said in an Americas Cardroom interview.

His second final table required patience. Playing a medium stack against much shorter opponents, Tavares said discipline was essential to his approach.

“The short stacks were really, really short, and I was a middle stack,” he said. “It was very hard because I had to be very disciplined, and I was. It worked, but it was very tough.”

The Sunday Banana victories add to a tournament history that includes the $10 Million GTD NLH Venom title in April 2025, when Tavares overcame 3,735 entries.

He now has 4,248,891 chips secured for Day 2 of the $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO. That was the second-largest qualifying stack from the opening flight on Oct. 4.

Two starting flights remain in the $2,650 direct buy-in tournament: Day 1D today, Oct. 15, and Day 1E on Sunday, Oct. 18. Both start at 1:05 p.m. ET. Day 2 begins Monday, Oct. 19, at the same time.

Brazilian players remain an important part of the ACR Poker community, with a strong presence in major tournaments.
