Brazilian Poker Player Tavares Adds Two Sunday Banana Wins at ACR Poker

Gabriel “kingqueensuited” Tavares has added consecutive Sunday Banana titles at ACR Poker to a résumé that already includes an April 2025 Venom championship. The Brazilian player earned a combined $204,657 on Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 and has qualified for Day 2 of the $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO.

Tavares collected $96,336 in the first Sunday Banana tournament, which featured a $1,050 buy-in, 436 entries and a $436,000 prize pool. The Oct. 11 edition attracted 502 entries, generated $502,000 and paid Tavares $108,321 for first place.

Tavares’s earlier Venom victory came in the $10 Million GTD NLH Venom, where he topped 3,735 entries. In the current Venom PKO event, he secured 4,248,891 chips during the Oct. 4 opening flight, finishing with the second-largest qualifying stack from Day 1A.

In an ACR Poker interview, Tavares described the discipline required at the second final table, where he held a medium stack while several opponents were much shorter.

“The short stacks were really, really short, and I was a middle stack,” he said. “It was very hard because I had to be very disciplined, and I was. It worked, but it was very tough.”

Tavares also discussed the response to tournament wins from Brazil’s poker community and the value of sharing those results with other players.

“When you win a tournament, they embrace you and celebrate with you,” he said. “It’s really nice because it’s an important moment, and sharing that moment makes it different.”

Brazilian players have long been an important part of the ACR Poker community, with Brazil producing some of the platform’s most active and successful tournament players.

The next stage of his Venom PKO campaign begins Monday, Oct. 19, at 1:05 p.m. ET. Before Day 2, the $2,650 direct buy-in tournament has two remaining starting flights: Day 1D today, Oct. 15, and Day 1E on Sunday, Oct. 18. Each begins at 1:05 p.m. ET.
