Americas Cardroom Debuts New Mystery PKO With $650,000 Halloween Special This Sunday

Americas Cardroom is running its Halloween Special starting this Sunday, offering $650,000 in combined guarantees. The tournaments mark the debut of Mystery PKO, a new format exclusive to the Winning Poker Network.

The first Day 1 flights run this Sunday, Oct. 18. Players can choose a $109 tournament with a $500,000 guarantee, a $33 event with a $100,000 guarantee or a $5.50 event with a $50,000 guarantee.

All three move to Day 2 on Sunday, Nov. 1. That is when the bounty action starts: an eligible knockout reveals a hidden Mystery Bounty, paying half immediately and adding half to the eliminator’s visible Progressive Bounty.

The result is a new target at the table. A player who uncovers a large mystery prize banks part of it, while the transferred portion becomes money opponents can win a share of through a later elimination.

Accumulated Progressive Bounties use the same equal split. When their owner is knocked out, 50% goes directly to the eliminator and 50% increases the eliminator’s own bounty. The full displayed progressive amount is therefore not paid out immediately.

A single elimination can deliver both a newly revealed mystery prize and a share of an existing progressive amount. In a hypothetical example, a $100 mystery prize and a $40 Progressive Bounty yield $70 in immediate cash and another $70 added to the eliminator’s bounty.

Before the hunt begins, players can enter multiple starting flights and combine qualifying chip stacks for Day 2. Day 1 knockouts pay no bounty money, and all participants enter Day 2 with $0 in accumulated Progressive Bounty.

Further details on the Halloween Special and the new Mystery PKO format are available on the promotion page.
