A 1,000-Chip Low Point and Big Decisions Shape New Chance Kornuth WSOP Documentary
Americas Cardroom follows the PLO specialist through a $50,000 High Roller and conversations that go beyond the cards.
A new documentary from Americas Cardroom looks inside Chance Kornuth’s appearance in the $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller at the 2026 World Series of Poker. The documentary pairs chip-stack swings and hand analysis with candid conversations about tournament structure.
Kornuth recalls being left with only 1,000 chips on Day 1. He rebuilt to more than 900,000 at one point, a striking reversal. Kornuth also discusses needing two entries to remain in the event.
The setting is WSOP Event #55 in Las Vegas, a $50,000 buy-in tournament that attracted 110 entries and generated a $5.225 million prize pool. First place carried $1,368,700, and the field included Daniel Negreanu and Martin Kabrhel. The footage also captures table banter and reactions.
Just as important is what happens between hands. Kornuth talks through an aggressive bet, the hands he hoped might fold and whether another sizing would have made more sense. His candid review shows the nuance behind high-pressure decisions.
The discussion then widens to late registration and re-entries. Kornuth questions whether recreational players are discouraged by professionals who can enter several times. Together, they discuss restricting late first entries while permitting earlier entrants to re-enter, balancing player experience with participation.
Later, Kornuth compares 40-minute Day 1 levels with longer Day 2 levels and discusses short-stack choices as 17 paid positions draw nearer.
Kornuth’s PLO background reaches back to a $508,090 win in the 2010 $5,000 WSOP PLO event, his first bracelet. He joined the ACR Poker Pro team in May 2026 and reached both ACR Poker Dual Mystery Bounty Venom final tables in September, finishing sixth in PLO and seventh in No-Limit Hold’em.
Kornuth also discusses ACR Poker’s Discord community and opportunities to review hands and interact with ACR Pros.
