The five-part TikTok-first series brings the brand’s spirit of wit, storytelling and discovery to life through Banana Republic Productions
Banana Republic announces, “The Agency,” a five-part original short-form video series debuting on October 14, 2026, and starring Jack Innanen (Adults, Big Mistakes). With the actor involved in the creative process, the series represents Banana Republic’s first foray into channel-first original programming.
Rooted in Banana Republic’s longstanding connection to storytelling, travel and discovery, “The Agency” follows Travel & Tours, a fictional travel agency that gets a new lease as it navigates our increasingly automated world. Across five installments, the series celebrates the with and sense of discovery that has been central to Banana Republic’s DNA for nearly 50 years.
“Storytelling has been part of Banana Republic’s DNA since it was founded by a journalist and an illustrator in 1978,” said Meena Anvary, Chief Marketing Officer, Banana Republic. “With ‘The Agency,’ we’re bringing that to life in an entirely new way, blending fashion and entertainment with a nostalgic sense of wit and irreverence. It reimagines our heritage through a contemporary lens and invites a new generation into our world with stories that entertain.”
In the debut episode, viewers are introduced to the agency’s core staff, each brought to life by Innanen. Howard Neale is the hapless and insecure senior manager; Barry is the hotshot cruise expert whose confidence stems from being the only one keeping the lights on; Dean works the Adventure Desk, despite fearing danger around every corner; and Roland, a self-proclaimed Francophile who hasn’t left the States since 1998, runs the European Desk.
Rounding out the cast are Dana, the corporate consultant tasked with bringing Travel & Tours into the modern era, played by Taylor Ortega, Innanen’s costar in Netflix’s Big Mistakes, and Eli, the agency’s intern and Howard’s son, played by writer and actor Milo Tucker-Meyer.
Style plays an integral role in bringing the world of “The Agency” to life, with each character’s wardrobe spotlighting Banana Republic’s signature design codes, including modern utility, timeless ease and premium fabrications such as linen and leather. The looks also draw from the brand’s rich design heritage, creating a visual language that reflects each character’s distinct personality.
As the resident adventurer, Dean’s wardrobe features pieces from the Archive Reissue collection, harkening back to Banana Republic’s adventurous roots. Roland’s European sensibility comes through in a sleek leather bomber and trousers, while Barry’s cruise-ready wardrobe centers on the ease of linen, finished with a casual navy cashmere sweater draped over his shoulder. Howard’s modern management look balances buttoned-up polish with relaxed workwear, while Dana, the consultant, embodies “the boss” in a refined tailored suit paired with a black henley. Eli the intern, our youngest team member, wears his father’s slightly oversized blazer with a vintage Banana Republic tee and baggy jeans.
The debut episode, “The Fax,” introduces viewers to Travel & Tours and its comically eccentric staff. Dana arrives to find an office in need of a tune-up, complete with dated technology and a far-too-casual workplace culture. As she shares the nature of her visit and her directive to modernize the agency, she’s interrupted by a fax machine reiterating the news, leaving the staff confounded.
As the series unfolds, Dana’s efforts to modernize Travel & Tours reveal that the agency’s personality and charm may be its most endearing attribute. With subtle nods to archival catalogues and a backdrop of discovery, the series also gives Banana Republic’s heritage an unexpected and modern creative treatment. Through its characters and humor, “The Agency” celebrates the imperfect, unexpected moments that make the human experience worth exploring.
“The Agency” will launch across Banana Republic channels with weekly episodes and behind-the-scenes captures.
