Netflix Secures Exclusive Rights in Spain and Andorra to the FIFA World Cup 2030™
Netflix Will Bring All 104 Matches of the 100th Anniversary Tournament to Fans in Spain and Andorra
Netflix has secured the exclusive rights in Spain and Andorra to the FIFA World Cup 2030™, bringing all 104 matches of the world’s biggest football tournament live to Netflix.
The FIFA World Cup 2030™ will mark the 100th anniversary of the tournament, with defending World Cup champion Spain serving as one of the tournament’s three host countries alongside Morocco and Portugal. Centenary celebration matches will also take place in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Netflix plans full live coverage of the tournament, including pre-game, halftime and post-game shows offering a distinctly Spanish perspective, a daily round-up show on match days and programming building excitement in the lead-up to the tournament.
As part of the agreement, one match per matchday will be available for free in Spain. A package of matches, including every Spain match, both semi-finals and the final, will be made available for broadcast on a national free-to-air broadcaster, ensuring broad accessibility for audiences across the country. Additional details on Netflix’s partnership with a free-to-air provider for select matches will be shared closer to the tournament.
The deal further expands Netflix’s growing relationship with FIFA. Netflix also holds broadcast rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and 2031 in the U.S. and Canada.
“Few events unite people like the World Cup. I was in the stands this year as Spain lifted the trophy and witnessed the passion, the pride, the stories – they all become part of a nation’s culture and are remembered for generations. With Spain set to host in 2030, we’re thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix. For Spanish football fans, welcoming the world as reigning champions on Netflix will make this a moment unlike any other. And, our expanding partnership with FIFA, including the Women’s World Cup in 2027 and 2031 for the U.S. and Canada, reflects our continued commitment to bringing fans closer to the world’s biggest sports moments.” -Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer, Netflix
“We are pleased to build on our partnership with Netflix as we look ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2030. This will be a special edition of the tournament, and we look forward to working together to bring it to fans across Spain and Andorra. Our shared ambition is to bring fans closer to the game and enable as many people as possible to share in the excitement of the competition.” -Mattias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General
The agreement builds on Netflix’s growing slate of premium live sports programming around the world, spanning the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and 2031, NFL games and events, MLB, WWE, and some of the biggest fights in boxing and MMA.
In Spain, Netflix has connected with audiences through documentaries on some of the country’s most iconic sporting figures and competitions, including LALIGA: All Access, RAFA, Carlos Alcaraz: My Way and The Figo Affair: The Transfer that Changed Football. Netflix has also brought fans closer to the world of football through programming including Captains of the World, produced in partnership with FIFA, Beckham, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos, Vini Jr., MOURINHO, Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team and Sunderland ’Til I Die.
The FIFA World Cup 2030™ will celebrate 100 years since the inaugural tournament in Uruguay in 1930, bringing together the world’s best national teams for a historic edition of the competition.
