“Winter Indian Market is built for connection. In a more intimate setting, visitors can spend real time with an artist: hearing the story behind a piece, learning the process and traditions that shaped it, and getting to know the person making contemporary Native art today. That conversation changes what a purchase means. You’re not just taking home something beautiful. You’re investing directly in an artist and carrying their story with you,” said Jamie R. Schulze, Executive Director of SWAIA.

The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) is pleased to announce its 21st annual Winter Indian Market, taking place on Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, 2026, at the Santa Fe Convention Center. The Thanksgiving weekend tradition showcases 160 SWAIA artists for a weekend of art, community, and cultural celebration.

Market hours are Saturday, November 28, from 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday, November 29, from 9 am to 4 pm. Tickets are $15 for one day or $25 for the weekend at SWAIA.org.

Smaller and more intimate than its famous summer counterpart, Winter Indian Market offers a rare chance to slow down, linger at each booth, and have genuine conversations with SWAIA juried artists. Visitors can hear firsthand about the techniques, traditions, and inspirations behind each piece, from finely crafted jewelry and hand-coiled pottery to paintings and more. It’s an opportunity to build lasting connections with the makers and to bring home art that carries its story with it. Whether you’re a longtime collector or discovering Native art for the first time, Winter Indian Market is a meaningful way to celebrate the season and support Native artists directly.
