Opening the doors of remarkable places to tell the story of their history, culture and identity. It is in this spirit that Heritage Hub is taking part in the “Giornate FAI d’Autunno 2026” (2026 FAI Autumn Days), the nationwide event promoted by FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano ETS to introduce the public to Italy’s historical, artistic, landscape and cultural heritage and enhance its value. Now in their 15 th edition, the FAI Autumn Days involve more than 700 sites across 350 Italian cities this year, many of which are normally inaccessible or little known, brought together in a nationwide programme led by FAI Delegations, FAI Groups and the Foundation’s volunteers. More than 90 sites will open across Piedmont and the Aosta Valley, with a particular focus on Made in Italy craftsmanship, expertise and manufacturing excellence that have helped shape the identity of these regions.
Against this backdrop, Stellantis is making two sites linked to Turin’s industrial history accessible to the public: La Bolla and La Pista 500 on the rooftop of the Lingotto, where the architecture of the historic FIAT plant now engages in a dialogue with contemporary art, landscape and industrial heritage; and the evocative Heritage Hub at 80 Via Plava, which will open its doors for the occasion on 10 and 11 October, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering visitors the opportunity to join special guided tours and make a voluntary contribution. Housed in Mirafiori’s historic Workshop 81, the exhibition venue is one of the landmarks of Turin’s automotive culture.
Spanning approximately 15,000 square metres, it houses a collection of more than 300 historic vehicles and prototypes from the Group’s Italian brands, charting over 120 years of Made in Italy innovation, design and industrial culture. The collection ranges from production models to competition machinery, from prototypes to one-off models, tracing the evolution of the automobile through different eras, design languages and engineering solutions. At the heart of Heritage Hub, 64 landmark vehicles are arranged across eight themed areas, while the display continues along the side aisles in chronological order and by marque. The exhibition is rounded out by an area devoted to some of the most significant powertrains developed by Stellantis’ Italian brands.
Since last April, Heritage Hub has also been home to the ASI Bertone Collection, a testament to one of the most creative and prolific periods in automotive design. The collection brings together cars and prototypes penned by the historic Turin coachbuilder, embodying the distinctly Italian ability to turn styling research and technical innovation into automobiles that defined their era. The presence of these masterpieces broadens the exhibition’s narrative, offering a privileged perspective on the role played by Italian coachbuilders in the evolution of the motor car and on the deep-rooted bond between Turin, industry and design culture.
The venue therefore offers visitors the chance to discover not only icons embedded in the collective imagination, but also the history and industrial identity of the building that houses them. Workshop 81 has retained its strong industrial character thanks to a meticulous conservation project that preserved its historic colour palette, concrete flooring and distinctive grid of steel pillars. At the entrance, a permanent exhibition also traces the history of Mirafiori from 1939 to the present day, strengthening the connection between the vehicles on display, the manufacturing site and Turin. Participation in the 2026 FAI Autumn Days thus provides another opportunity to share with the public a heritage shaped by Italian ingenuity, design, innovation and industrial culture, in one of the places that most powerfully bears witness to the relationship between Turin and the automobile.
