Steve Wheeler Unveils “Ordinary Heroes” at Frankfurt Book Fair 2026

Reading Glass Books is pleased to welcome author Steve Wheeler to Hall 4.2 - Stand L26 at Frankfurt Book Fair 2026 for a book signing on October 9 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Messe Frankfurt, Germany. Fairgoers will have an opportunity to meet Wheeler and discover “Ordinary Heroes,” a high-stakes crime thriller rooted in law enforcement, military operations, and the realities of confronting dangerous threats.

Wheeler draws on a remarkable career that began with 25 years at the Cheyenne, Wyoming Police Department, where he spent more than half his service in undercover and detective positions. He also managed firearms training and served as a SWAT Commander before later working in Baghdad as a Department of Defense SWAT instructor and pursuing a second career in global security and counterterrorism.

“Ordinary Heroes” plunges readers into southeast Wyoming as outlaw bikers and other criminal groups launch a serious crime spree. A cowboy police detective and retired Navy SEAL begin piecing together the clues, but the investigation quickly escalates into hostage rescues and increasingly dangerous confrontations. When the group’s real target is finally uncovered, law enforcement and a SEAL team join forces in a desperate attempt to prevent catastrophe.

Frankfurt Book Fair offers a fitting international setting for Wheeler’s work, bringing together publishing professionals, authors, booksellers, and representatives from creative and technology industries. The major annual event also serves as a place to discover new content, exchange ideas, develop industry connections, and explore international publishing and rights opportunities.

For readers drawn to gripping investigations, realistic police work, and stories shaped by authentic experience, Wheeler’s appearance offers an opportunity to meet the author behind “Ordinary Heroes” and explore the experiences that inform his portrayal of duty, danger, and service. His participation brings a story of courage and teamwork to an international audience while highlighting the real-world perspective behind its action.
