Reading Glass Books is pleased to welcome author Lane Sturkie to Hall 4.2, Stand L26 during Frankfurt Book Fair 2026, taking place on October 10 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sturkie will be featured at the Reading Glass Books stand, where fairgoers can discover his two novels, “The Encounter” and “Thus Far the Lord Has Helped Us,” and explore the faith-centered stories behind his work.

In “Thus Far the Lord Has Helped Us,” Sturkie follows ninety-five-year-old Neb Wright during the final days of his life, when he is given an opportunity to pass on divine wisdom and fulfill a prophecy reaching across generations. His story explores the lasting influence of one man’s faith and the responsibility of carrying spiritual lessons forward.

“The Encounter” takes readers into a very different setting as William Wright and his family respond to a calling to establish an orphanage in Sokoto, Nigeria. Their mission places them in the midst of human trafficking, corruption, and grave danger, while an unseen spiritual battle unfolds around them. Angels and demonic forces become part of a conflict in which prayer plays a central role.

Although the novels unfold through different circumstances, both examine what happens when faith shapes the decisions people make. One looks at the wisdom and spiritual inheritance passed from one generation to another, while the other follows a family acting on a calling that takes them far beyond familiar surroundings.

Sturkie draws from decades of Bible study, ministry, and teaching, including his years leading a Senior Adult Bible Class. The experiences and stories of the older adults he taught became an important source of inspiration, particularly their commitment to faith, family, church, and community. His own life in construction also influences his storytelling, where characters and their experiences are shaped with an understanding of purpose, responsibility, and perseverance. Fairgoers can explore Sturkie’s books at the Reading Glass Books stand and learn more about the stories and ideas that shape his work.
