GEODIS places an order for 110 new electric heavy-duty trucks
GEODIS has signed a firm order for 110 44-tonne electric trucks intended for its European road transport operations, with delivery expected by May 2027. This order illustrates GEODIS’s commitment to accelerating the electrification of its fleet.
GEODIS, a world leader in transport and logistics, announces the acquisition of 110 electric trucks for its European road transport operations. This order of 44-ton heavy-duty trucks developed by Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks will be delivered by May 2027. These new trucks will be dedicated to transport operations in France, both for urban deliveries and long-distance transport. The GEODIS European Road Network activity electric truck fleet will reach 190 vehicles.
To support the operation of this fleet and optimize territorial coverage, GEODIS is developing electric corridors along the main French routes, enabling charging every 250 to 500 kilometers. To achieve this, GEODIS relies on its current network of around sixty charging points, which will increase to more than 200 by 2030.
“The arrival of these new electric vehicles is part of a global decarbonization strategy and meets the expectations of our clients. It is a major investment for GEODIS, both in terms of fleet and infrastructure, marking our clear choice in favor of electrifying our fleet and integrating into our CO2 emission reduction trajectory validated by the Science Based Target initiative,” says Marc Vollet, Managing Director of the European Road Network at GEODIS.
True to its mission, GEODIS supports its clients by offering innovative solutions aimed at reducing GHG emissions related to transport, thereby actively contributing to the decarbonization of the sector.
