Next phase of data-driven management is built on prediction and collaboration

WEBWIRE –

In late September, Tietojohtamisen Verkostopäivät*) in Lahti, Finland, brought together experts, decision-makers, developers and technology providers to explore the future of data-driven management in health and social care.

The program highlighted the impact of data-driven management, the opportunities created by artificial intelligence, and the importance of collaboration between different stakeholders in shaping the future of health and social care. Tieto Caretech participated as a main partner at the event and held numerous discussions with customers, partners and industry experts.

One clear conclusion emerged from these discussions: the focus of data-driven management is shifting from reporting towards prediction, measuring impact and supporting concrete decision-making.

Predictive healthcare is attracting more interest than ever

At the event, Tieto Caretech presented its views on how artificial intelligence can be utilized in predictive healthcare. Discussions reflected growing interest in how data can be used to identify risks of illness, target care more effectively and support early intervention.

There are 21 wellbeing services counties in Finland, which are increasingly exploring how to derive greater value from existing data assets to support decision-making and operational development. At the same time, there is a growing need to bring analytical insights into the daily work of professionals rather than leaving valuable information in separate reports.

To address this need, Tieto Caretech has developed a solution that integrates data analytics and AI directly into Lifecare EHR healthcare (Electronic Health Record) system. Insights become a seamless part of daily management and operational activities, helping organizations identify development opportunities more proactively.

Data-driven management is entering a new phase

“Many Finnish wellbeing services counties have reached a stage where the technical foundation, data repositories and reporting capabilities are already largely in place. The focus is now shifting towards how information can be used to guide day-to-day operations, measure outcomes, allocate resources more effectively and develop new ways of working,” says Data Solution Lead Helmi Salvola at Tieto Caretech, and continues:

“We see increasing interest in the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence, the sharing of experiences between organizations, and the need for even closer collaboration between the counties, technology providers and other stakeholders.”

Data platforms, analytics capabilities and information repositories are, for the most part, already established. The next step is to ensure that data is translated into concrete actions that support better decision-making, timely care and more effective services. In this transformation, the role of data-driven management, analytics and artificial intelligence will continue to grow in the years ahead.
