Sonia Bompastor and Blues defender nominated for WSL awards
Sonia Bompastor has been nominated for the Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award for September, while Lucy Bronze is up for the WSL Player of the Month award for her strong performances in the backline.
Bompastor has steered us to three wins and a draw in our opening four WSL matches this season, including a perfectly-executed victory against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last Sunday.
We have conceded just once in those four matches, a late equaliser against Aston Villa on the opening day of the domestic campaign, and there was also a 5-0 win away at Manchester United on 13 September.
Meanwhile Bronze has featured in all four of our WSL matches so far this season, scoring in stoppage time against Man United and contributing to our superb defensive record with some typically determined performances at centre-back.
Voting for Manager of the Month and Player of the Month is now open and will close at 11am on Monday 5 October. The winner will be announced on Thursday 8 October.

Good luck, Sonia and Lucy!
