Polestar makes public EV charging more affordable with new subscription offer and access to more than 1.25 million charging points across Europe
- Polestar Charge subscription offer expanded with new, more affordable tier for fast charging discounts
- Access to now more than 1.25 million public charging points across Europe
Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car brand, grows its public charging offer, giving drivers more options to affordable fast charging discounts through Polestar Charge. The service now also provides access to more than 1.25 million public charging points across Europe.
Polestar Charge is a public charging solution that lets Polestar drivers charge almost anywhere across Europe while on the go – all through one account. It is included with the purchase of a Polestar, including from the pre-owned programme, and provides seamless charging access through the app and card. The service comes with convenient features such as Plug & Charge for compatible vehicles and the ability to filter for charging points included in the Polestar Charge network when planning routes in Google Maps, making EV road trips easy.
The expanded offer features the standard non-subscription tier and two new subscription tiers, Plus and Pro, that give customers discounts on the regular price of fast charging for a monthly fee. The new entry-level subscription tier, Plus, is aimed at customers who occasionally need to fast charge and gives users a 15% discount on charging at five select fast charging networks in each market for EUR 7.99 per month. The Pro tier targets those with frequent need for fast charging and gives users a 30% discount at seven select fast charging networks, including Ionity, in each market for EUR 14.99 per month.
Both new subscription tiers now give users access to even more charging points where they can save on charging. With Plus, subscribers get access to more than 104,000 discounted charging points across Europe, and with Pro that number increases to more than 118,000, which is a 26% and 43% increase compared to the old subscription tier.
Olivier Loedel, Head of Product Software Management at Polestar, says: “Polestar Charge provides users with one of Europe’s largest and most convenient charging ecosystems. Now, thanks to this expanded offer, we make it even more affordable for customers to benefit from savings on fast charging through subscription options that suit their needs and driving habits.”
The Polestar Charge network also keeps growing and now gives users access to more than 1.25 million charging points across Europe, including the Tesla Supercharger network. This broad and convenient access is the same for both non-subscribers and subscribers.
The benefits of Polestar Charge’s seamless and simple solution are proven by its popularity. This summer has seen record amounts of usage with 161,000 charging sessions * by Polestar drivers – and subscribers see savings already after their first full charge.
Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, says: “The transition to EVs is accelerating to more than 20% of new car sales in the European Union during the first half of 2026 **. With Polestar Charge, we make sure our drivers have convenient access to public charging, affordable charging discounts, and we turn range anxiety into a thing of the past.”
