Don Liu Named Xerox General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
STAMFORD, Conn.,-- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) announced today the appointment of Don Liu as general counsel and corporate secretary. He was also elected a senior vice president of the corporation.
Liu will oversee the legal affairs of the corporation including legal counsel, litigation and patent acquisition. He will also manage the regulatory requirements and meeting processes for the company’s board of directors and lead Xerox’s government-related and public policy activities on domestic and international affairs.
He joins Xerox from Toll Brothers where he served for the past two years as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate compliance officer. From 1999 -2005, Liu was general counsel, corporate secretary and corporate compliance officer at IKON Office Solutions. Prior to IKON, he was vice president and deputy chief legal officer for Aetna U.S. Healthcare.
Liu, 45, earned his J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Haverford College. He is affiliated with professional and not-for-profit organizations including serving as a board member of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and Mercy Health Systems.
Reporting to Xerox chairman and chief executive officer Anne Mulcahy, Liu, whose appointment is effective June 4, succeeds J. Michael Farren, who retired from Xerox last month. Farren joined Xerox in 1994 and led Xerox’s office of external affairs in Washington D.C., before assuming the additional roles of general counsel and corporate secretary in 2004.
