Dominion Promotes, Appoints To Leadership Team In External Affairs & Corporate Communications

RICHMOND, Va. – Dominion (NYSE: D), one of the nation’s largest energy producers, announced Tuesday the following promotions and appointments to its leadership team of External Affairs & Corporate Communications:

* Virginia M. Board is promoted to managing director – Community Affairs & Philanthropy from director – Community Affairs. She will continue to report to William C. Hall Jr., vice president – Corporate Communications & Community Affairs. In her new role, Board will lead the company’s volunteer, minority affairs, education, EnergyShare, community outreach and charitable giving efforts. Board, who has held a number of other leadership positions at Dominion during her career, also serves on a number of boards and committees, including the Norfolk State University Board of Visitors, Richmond Hospital Authority, Latin Ballet of Virginia Board of Directors, Executive Roundtable of the Urban League of Greater Richmond and the Development Committee of Leadership Metro Richmond.

* James W. “Jim” Beamer will become managing director – Legislative Outreach, reporting to Robert M. Blue, vice president – State and Federal Affairs. Beamer currently is chief Virginia lobbyist for Dominion. He will oversee the company’s relationship with state government officials and their staff members. Beamer has headed a Richmond-based government relations firm since 1996, representing Dominion and other clients. Prior to that, he was a lead lobbyist in the administration of Virginia Gov. George Allen and was an assistant to former Virginia Speaker of the House Vance Wilkins and former Delegate Steve Agee. Beamer has a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University.

* William L. “Bill” Murray will join the company as managing director – Corporate Public Policy, reporting to Blue. Murray is currently legislative director for Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine. He will be responsible for managing the company’s positions and policies on key state and local issues. Among his previous positions, Murray served as deputy director of policy for Virginia Gov. Mark Warner and as a vice president with the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree and doctorate in public administration from Virginia Tech, where he has taught as an adjunct professor since 1997.

* Ann W. Loomis will join Dominion as director – Federal Public Policy, reporting to Bruce C. McKay, managing director – Federal Affairs. Loomis currently is chief of staff for U.S. Sen. John Warner, R-Va. She will be based in Dominion’s Washington, D.C., office and will be responsible for managing the company’s positions and policies on key federal issues. Loomis joined Warner’s staff in 1984 where she initially served as chief policy adviser on environmental issues. Prior to that she was an assistant to U.S. Rep. J. Kenneth Robinson. Loomis has a bachelor’s degree from Catholic University.
