RHS Glow Shines Brighter for 2026 with 40 New Light Installations

This winter, RHS Glow returns to all five Royal Horticultural Society gardens, transforming them after dark with enchanting, illuminated trails, spectacular light and sound installations, interactive experiences and festive highlights.

Taking place on selected dates from 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 this year’s RHS Glow will unveil 40 brand new light installations to discover, alongside new routes and previously unlit areas of the gardens brought to life after dark for the first time.

RHS Glow offers visitors a magical way to experience the beauty of nature in the gardens as they are transformed by light, colour and sound throughout the winter season.

Beyond the illuminations, visitors can enjoy festive food and drink including the chance to toast marshmallows over crackling fire pits. RHS Garden Centres and gift shops will open late offering the perfect opportunity for Christmas shopping with Christmas trees, decorations and a carefully curated selection of gifts available to browse.

A range of new ticketing options across all RHS Gardens help make a visit to RHS Glow this year even more affordable.

RHS Wisley, Surrey Selected dates from 20 November 2026 – 3 January 2027
New for 2026, RHS Garden Wisley’s illuminating winter light trail will feature seven brand-new dazzling installations and two spectacular new light shows bringing even more colour, light and festive atmosphere to the garden this winter.

A striking ‘field of fire’ leads to giant illuminated crocuses, creating a spectacular display. Inside the gardens striking Glasshouse visitors can discover a specially curated ‘enchanted garden’, while RHS Wisley’s impressive Rock Garden will be transformed into a magical fairy village. Visitors can discover a light installation inspired by the intricate networks of mycelium and plant roots, offering a glimpse into the fascinating world beneath the soil. The two light and sound shows one incorporating fountains and the other fire, will bring the trail to life with theatrical effects.

This year, for the very first time, RHS Glow at Wisley will open on Christmas Eve, giving visitors an opportunity to truly get into the Christmas spirit with family and friends before the big day.

RHS Bridgewater, Salford Selected dates from 26 November – 30 December 2026
This winter RHS Garden Bridgewater’s popular festive light trail will return with a reimagined route and brand-new light installations, along with some firm favourites, offering visitors the chance to experience more of the garden after dark.

The trail journeys through the atmospheric woodlands to explore interactive light and sound panels designed to be explored through movement, encouraging instinctive play.

A five-metre high, immersive sunrise-to-sunset experience will captivate visitors along with a series of animated light installations by acclaimed illustrator and artist Rob Hodgson. Drawing inspiration from the playful characters and distinctive style he is best known for, his nature inspired characterful light creations will appear as visitors journey through the gardens Middle Wood.

RHS Harlow Carr, North Yorkshire Selected dates from 26 November – 30 December
A decade after RHS Glow first lit up RHS Harlow Carr, the trail returns for its 10th anniversary with eight new installations to discover.

The route leads visitors past glimmering columns of light, giant dandelions and a vibrant patchwork of colours. Along the way touch sensitive installations and captivating soundscapes create interactive moments for visitors to encounter.

A brand-new joint art commission with Light Night Leeds, Common Ground, created by collaborative art collective ‘are you playing out?’ celebrates the relationship between people, place and the natural world. This 30-metre illuminated sculptural installation comes to life in the dark as sound reactive LED lights animate the internal core, sending pulses, glows and waves of colour.

For the first time, the visitors will journey through the Winter Walk, where RHS Garden Harlow Carr’s champion trees will be illuminated to detail their intricate beauty, while a striking neon tree creates a dazzling focal point beside the Queen Mother’s Lake. The trail ends with breath taking views of the Doric Columns from the top of the Main Borders.

RHS Hyde Hall, Essex Selected dates from 26 November – 30 December
RHS Hyde Hall’s vibrant mix of traditional and modern landscapes creates striking shadows, silhouettes and reflections offering a captivating way to experience the garden after dark this winter.

New for 2026 are nine fresh installations and an updated route allowing visitors to experience the garden from a different perspective and discover areas never before illuminated.

Beginning with the delicate glow of reed lights in the Birch Grove, the trail leads visitors through the Winter Garden, which comes into its own at this time of year with the addition of the intricate living willow sculptures handcrafted by the RHS Hyde Hall garden teams.

Striking large-scale installations and playful interactive circles of colour invite visitors to become part of the experience as well as opportunities to alter the light and sound displays.

Many of the light installations take inspiration from the natural world, including installations echoing the intricate forms of mycelium networks, beehives and dandelions, all brought together by an enchanting ambient soundtrack.

RHS Rosemoor, North Devon Selected dates from 27 November – 30 December
This year the 10 ^th anniversary of RHS Glow at RHS Garden Rosemoor promises a spectacular after dark experience with a brand-new route and eight new light installations.

Visitors will discover an ancient oak, dramatically defined by neon lines, as they wander through the recently renovated Winter Garden to a path of glowing daisies leading to a spectacular ‘field of poppies’ before entering the Devon Heritage Orchard for the first time.

An illuminated water feature creates a dramatic focal point at the lake before the route reaches the Long Border where an interactive light and sound installation will invite visitors to walk, jump and dance across illuminated floor buttons to create shifting colour and musical notes, creating a full octave of sound when explored. Huge, illuminated dandelions provide a final photo opportunity and striking finale to the trail.

For those looking for an extra special Christmas night out, RHS Garden Rosemoor will host a Silent Disco for RHS Glow visitors of all ages on Friday 11 ^th and Saturday 12 ^th December, a chance to enjoy the illuminated garden and an evening of music and dancing.
